Suvarnabhumi » Civil Aviation Training Centre to supplying airport employee training
Tuesday, September 4th, 2007The Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC) and Airports of Thailand Plc. (AOT) will sign a memorandum of understanding in October to expand human resource development efforts.
By the end of the year, CATC will instruct about 200 people, who will then be qualified to work at Suvarnabhumi or airlines operating in Thailand. With new facilities in the northeastern provinces of Khon Kaen and Roi-et, CATC hopes to train 300 people next year.
Training focuses on areas like air traffic control and ground service management.
The Transport Ministry hopes the continued cooperation between CATC and AOT will help meet growing service demand in the aviation industry and help Suvarnabhumi Airport become the region’s passenger and cargo hub.
According to Boonritr Saovapruk, CATC governor, the company has already signed a contract with Thai Airports Ground Services (TAGS) to create an efficiency-testing centre which will assess employee performance.
