Suvarnabhumi » Noise pollution around new Bangkok Airport will be concluded
Tuesday, September 4th, 2007Mr. Chalor Kotcharat, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Transport, said the Ministry of Transport will urgently evaluate the problems and solutions concerning the residents around Suvarnabhumi Airport. The result will be announced within November 7th.
Mr. Chalor had a meeting with the Department of Civil Aviation, the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning, and all involved agencies to find the alternatives to solve the noise pollution problem around the new international airport of Thailand.
Currently, officers have been dispatched to measure the noise level in decibels during the take-offs and landings of airplanes.
Once all the answers are finalized, the proposal will be sent to the Transport Minister, Admiral Thira Hao-charoen, so he can consider it and assign further tasks to relevant units and solve the problems as soon as possible. (Thai News)
