Suvarnabhumi » Bangkok Mass Transit to provide more private buses around airport
Tuesday, September 4th, 2007The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority will be providing more private buses for service around Suvarnabhumi airport due to influx of people.
Mr. O-pas Petchmunee , director of Bangkok Mass Transit Authority reveals that after BMTA has participated in service at Suvarnabhumi airport since August until 28th September, the first full day of opening to commercial flights, the amount of passengers have been increasing continually.
CMr Opas also said BMTA will offer sales of month-long ticket at a cost of 1,700 baht each, starting in October 2nd for passengers travelling in and out of Suvarnabhumi airport and also other lines in Bangkok and its surrounding areas.
Up to now, BMTA has been providing services with 12 bus-lines at an estimated passenger rate of 35,000 people, which was considered sufficient. However, the number could increase to 50,000 people per day. So BMTA is considering to provide private buses for service around the lines linked to the airport.
