Security firm at Suvarnabhumi airport to accept shorter term
Tuesday, August 14th, 2007The security firm at Suvarnabhumi airport yesterday indicated that it was willing to accept a shorter contract term sought by Airports of Thailand (AOT). Karn Thongyai, managing director of Asia Security Management Co, which is part of the Loxley-ICTS consortium, said a reduction in the contract term would be acceptable if it was reasonable.

Sunday, May 27th, 2007Starting June 1, 2007, The Transport Ministry’s Aviation Department will enforce its rule requiring air passengers to display liquids, gels and sprays in transparent containers before boarding flights, Director-General Chaisak Angkasuwan said Saturday.
Mr. Chaisak said he had met representatives of Airports of Thailand (AOT), airlines and King Power, contracted for duty free and other business at Suvarnabhumi airport, regarding the measure, which will be enforced both on domestic and international routes beginning June 1.
Transport minister calls for higher security at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Thursday, October 12th, 2006Transport Minister Admiral Thira Haocharoen on Thursday instructed airport officials to boost security throughout the Suvarnabhumi Airport area, particularly in a zone nearby an aircraft takeoff and landing area.
Adm. Thira and his deputy Sansern Wongcha-um made their first inspection of Suvarnabhumi Airport after assuming their posts.
They were welcomed by senior executives of Airports of Thailand (AOT), Thai Airways International (THAI) and state agencies concerned, who briefed them of the airport’s overall functions and all problems that have arisen in the new facility’s operations.
