Suvarnabhumi International Airport to resume full service on 5 December 2008
Thursday, December 4th, 2008- Airport operations at Suvarnabhumi International Airport are scheduled to resume full operation at 11.00 hrs on 5 December 2008 (Bangkok time).
- Following the re-opening of Suvarnabhumi International Airport on 5 December 2008, remaining tourists/travellers are advised to contact airline Reservation Centres directly by telephone or e-mail to re-confirm their intention to travel in accordance with standard airline procedures for flight reservations requests.
- Full airport operations will resume following a re-certification of the airport in accordance with internationally-recognized standards and guidelines established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), an agency of the United Nations.
Trial for International Flights completed successfully
Saturday, September 2nd, 2006Four international flights conducted Friday (September 1, 2006) at Suvarnabhumi Airport as trial runs for the new facility were completed successfully, according to officials.
Earlier in the day, two flights departed safely from Suvarnabhumi to Singapore and Hong Kong and landed at their respective destinations later in the day. A second set of planes were used on a return trip from the same locations, arriving in the capital in the afternoon.
The tests were being conducted prior to the commencement of the new airport’s international services on Sept 28.
