Suvarnabhumi » No problem with holes in Suvarnabhumi Airport’s roof
Sunday, July 20th, 2008
Three holes in Suvarnabhumi Airport’s roof will not delay the September 28 opening, said airport General Manager Somchai Sawasdeepon.
“We are working hard to fix the holes and it is not a big problem. The problem can be solved by filling the leaks with silicone. So far, leaks in concourses A and B have been sealed. The remaining leaks will be sealed before September 25,” said Somchai.
The holes were caused during heavy rainfall Sunday night. A number of leaks in the main passenger terminal and all concourses have also been discovered due to poorly sealed mirrors.
Airports of Thailand Plc officials have urged Italian-Thai Development Plc, Suvarnabhumi’s primary contractor, to check the passenger terminal thoroughly for leaks before the turnkey contract is complete. (TNA)
