There have been concerns voiced by airlines that the capacity for Bangkok’s new Suvarnabhumi Airport will be reached before the expansion plans planned to be completed by 2010.
The executives of 11 airlines – Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, Austrian Airlines, Qantas, British Airways, Japan Airlines, China Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, and Northwest Airlines – met with the Tourism and Sports Minister Suvit Yodmani to discuss their concerns.
The traffic passing through the new airport this year is expected to reach 42 million.
