Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

The Transport Minister, Admiral Thira Haocharoen, says he would like additional information on the nullification of the contracts for King Power International Company Limited to run duty free shops at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The Airports of Thailand (AOT) Public Company Limited has reported that the contracts with King Power have been cancelled. However, Transport Minister Thira says he needs more information to help the investigation process.

Referring to the decision whether King Power will sign the new contracts, Admiral Thira says the Airports of Thailand will consider and revise the case, to determine the most appropriate outcome.

King Power Duty Free may cut shop size at airport

Friday, October 6th, 2006

Duty free shop giant King Power has agreed to remove part of its shop at Suvarnabhumi airport if today’s inspection shows it blocks arriving passengers.

Chief executive officer of King Power Group Vichai Raksriaksorn said the removal would not be a ”serious issue” to his company but cautioned that careful consideration should be made before taking any decision.

Company executives and Suvarnabhumi airport general manager Somchai Sawasdeepon will today take a closer look at the troubled spot to jointly find a solution, which should range from a small adjustment to the removal of part of the shop.
