New government to force fare meters in taxis to protect passengers
Sunday, March 2nd, 2008Taxis servicing Suvarnabhumi airport and its vicinity will soon all be required to use their fare meters to protect the interests of passengers. There were many communities in the vicinity of the airport, and the residents needed a regulated taxi service.

Thursday, November 1st, 2007The number of European visitors to Thailand is likely to grow by 20-25% in the coming high season and could compensate for falling arrivals from East Asia, said the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
Based on the nine-month figure, arrivals from Europe via Suvarnabhumi Airport rose about 13% year-on-year to 2.1 million. Tourists from Scandinavia and Eastern Europe showed the highest growth, helping to draw total arrivals from the region to 30% of the projected 14.8 million foreign tourists this year.
State Railway given one month to finish Airport Rail Link plan
Wednesday, October 24th, 2007The state railway has been given one more month to complete its plan for the operation of the Bangkok Airport Rail Link so it can begin running on schedule. Deputy Transport Minister Sansern Wongcha-um said the railway linking Suvarnabhumi airport and Makkasan in the inner city was due to open late next year.
However, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) still did not have a concrete plan for its operation or for establishing the entity to run the system.
